On may 6, Sean and I went on a seven day cruise to the eastern Caribbean with our friends Jamie and Katie. We had a blast. The freedom of the seas was the name of the boat and it was incredible. I cannot believe the things they are putting on crew ships these days. This boat is currently the largest crew ship in the world, well right along with its sister ship the Liberty of the seas.
The variety of activities on this boat were an ice skating ring, miniature golf, a rock climbing wall, two swimming pools plus a large children pool area called the H2O Zone, two cantilevered hot tubs that extend 12 feet beyond the sides of the ship, a great casino, a beautifully huge promenade down the center of the ship, and last but not least, and Sean and Jamie's most favorite part, the FlowRider. The Flowrider is a mock wave at sea. If you can imagine 20,00 gallons of water shooting out at you at 35 mph, and you being on a 52" Boogie Board or Standing Up on a 58" soft surf board. Its awesome. We had a blast on that. Sean and Jamie got progressively better throughout the week. I was very very proud of them.
We had three ports during the week we stopped in Puerto Rico, St. John and St. Martin. My favorite port out of all of them was Puerto Rico because we took a 4-wheeling tour through the jungle. It lightly rained and made the trail muddy and even more fun. Sean and I were in the back of the line up and at some points held back and played around by speeding and taking corners faster than we probably should have. At one point in the trip we were stopped on this hill waiting for the other tour groups and a cow got lose and started chasing after my quad. I started freaking out and screaming for our guide to go. Everyone thought it was so funny. I didn't think it was that funny, I was scared out of my mind that this crazy cow was going to ram my quad and kill me. After screaming for a couple seconds the guide finally pulled up and everyone started moving so I didn't get eaten by the crazy cow but it was defiantly a close call. It was a ton of fun though and we got really dirty so that was even more fun.
Throughout the week we went to an ice skating show, as well as ice skating ourselves, dance parties in the promenade, fresh free cookies and pizza everyday, Ben and Jerry's ice cream, broadway shows, a little Roulette in the casino, pina coladas at the pool, a little miniature golf, climbing "The Wall", attempting the Flowrider and entertaining pool games. One of the best things about this cruise was our cruise director, Richard Spacey. If you ever get the chance to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise look for his name and go on his cruise, it will make all the difference.
We had so much fun on this boat that we are planning to go on another one hopefully within the next year. I really think that this is mine a Sean's thing now, so if you want to go on a cruise, let us know and we would love to go. The only way to vacation is on a giant boat with free everything. We love you all and will tell you
about Georgia another time. This is my butt on the left and Katie's on the right. Dang...that is some beautifully clear water!
