Here is a little look into mine and
Sean's dating life, we had a blast being with each other all of the time. Sean and I started dating in January of 2006. We had known each other for about a year and a half from
working at
Tucanos together.

We really never hung out outside of work except for once when he had a dessert party at his house and I ended up being at his house all day
that day. Anyways, lets just say I think we both made an impression on one another. We kinda had this ongoing dessert making competition, which his roommates certainly didn't mind. I really liked
Sean's competitive side, it was surprising that he was able to put me in my place without me having a problem with it. I honestly believe mine and
Sean's personalities were meant for each other.

As summer came along we struggled to part but knew that we had to. It wasn't too bad because we ended up seeing one another almost every other weekend, because it was only a short flight from Northern to Southern California. We had kinda been mentioning marriage before we left for the summer, but no big deal. We had kinda agreed that nothing would actually happen until we got back to Provo and together again to see how things would pan out. Well low and behold, I was in the dark about
Sean's little plan for a surprise engagement. Sean proposed to me at the Ritz
Carlton in San
Clemente where we had had dinner that night. He

took on a little walk to see the ocean view/sunset and this worker walked up behind us holding a tray with chocolate dipped strawberries and offered us some. Being the retard I am I said no thank you I am so full, not noticing the lid that was covering the rest of the tray, so I turned around to enjoy the sunset and Sean was like, "wait". So I turned around and he had lifted off the lid and encircled in 6 rose buds was a ring box. I wish you all could have seen my face, I looked like a deer in
headlights, or
that's what Sean says. So, of course he gets on one knee and starts saying, "Ashley, for the past 6 months...(something else I don't remember, I
kinda blacked out)...I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?" I couldn't talk I was all choked up all I could say was, "What are you doing get up. And Yes, yes, yes...are you serious, is this a joke, is this for real?" I honestly could not believe what had just happened. I threw my arms around his neck and I think almost killed him I was hugging him so tight. After calming down we walked back to the car and everyone at the Hotel knew exactly what was going on. (Side note: Sean worked as a valet there
that's why we were there in
the first place)
Then, when we got back to the house everyone was there waiting for us with balloons and cake and I felt so stupid because everyone had made up excuses why they couldn't go to dinner that night. So, yeah everyone knew the entire weekend and I had no idea. It was the best night of my life, well that is until we got married. So, yea, that is us summed up into a very small story. We were a lot more exciting when we were dating but
that's the boring part, planning the wedding and getting to January 11, 2007, was the exciting part.
I hope you all enjoyed getting to know the
MacLaurins a little bit more, and tell me what you think. Love you all!
