A glimpse of Spring!

Today was the first day that it hasn't rained in the last two weeks...(Ok, so that may be exaggerating a bit, but it has rained A LOT). Anyways, Sean and I decided to kill the weeds and plant some flowers, so to Home Depot we went. I was really excited to pick out some flowers to plant in our flower bed around the mail box. What a bummer when we came home and we were quickly reminded of the second flower bed on the other side of sidewalk. Oooooops! So now we just have a before and after version of our flower bed, but no worries, the second will get done on Tuesday (assuming the weather cooperates that is). When all was said and done, we had a blast getting our hands dirty in that wonderful Georgia clay, (this stuff sucks!) although, it was really nice getting out and being able to enjoy a beautiful sunny day.
Before and After! (the before version is the left side in case our work isn't as glorious and obvious to everyone else)
Inspired by the sunshine, Sean thought it would be fun to teach me how to play tennis a few weeks ago. He grew up playing tennis and is still pretty good. Lucky for me, I grew up playing basketball and volleyball, so my hand eye coordination is pretty in tune. Well, to Sean's surprise I actually hit the ball over the net and in the court (the fenced part, not necessarily inside the white lines). He quickly realized that my having played volleyball helped out his willing to teach me tennis. Okay, okay, I'll just say it, I'm actually pretty good for never having played; plus, I love it!!! It's so much fun, and it's gotten us out on every sunny Saturday to play. It's fun being able to work up a sweat and work on your tan all at the same time; it's a win win situation! I should point out that even more surprising than my unpolished talent is that Sean has been extremely patient with me and my single handed backhand and two handed forehand. I know it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but that's what my hands wanted to do. I was very quickly reminded that it was NOT okay. I thought was pretty funny though, even if it made Sean cringe:)

And I'll go ahead and apologize, our April is pretty jam packed and my blogging will probably suffer. We're going to Florida next weekend, to Kentucky for Thunder over Louisville the following week, and for the last weekend in April we're flying up to New York to visit family. Plus, I am dying to see what NYC looks like in person. We're very excited to start spring/summer and get some traveling done. As usual, we're hoping to make the best of every nonworking moment and get to the beach.

We planted a garden BEFORE the rain came ... and all of our seeds have washed away! We're not so happy about the freeze this week either. I'm pretty sure our garden has NO hope. Best of luck to all your plants!
